2 Fast 2 Furious is a 2003 film. It is the sequel of The Fast and the Furious and previous to The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It features Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Eva Mendes, Devon Aoki and Ludacris.

The film was directed by John Singleton, while the soundtrack was composed by David Arnold. The producers were Lee R. Mayes and Neal H. Moritz.

Paul Walker returns as former cop Brian O'Conner who teams up with his ex-con pal Roman Pearce (Tyrese). The duo transport a shipment of "dirty" money for shady Miami-based import-export dealer Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), while working with undercover agent Monica Fuentes (Mendes) to bring Verone down.

The total production budget of the film was approximately US$76 million, with estimated marketing costs of US$40 million. The total running time is 101 minutes, with an MPAA rating of PG-13.

The "Tricked Out Edition" DVD release of The Fast and the Furious and the regular DVD release of 2 Fast 2 Furious include a short prelude video that bridges the gap between the two films. It contains no dialogue; instead, background music and sound effects play throughout the video.

Shortly after letting Toretto escape at the end of the first film, Brian is now wanted by the FBI. He promptly leaves Los Angeles, CA, in a red Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, heading eastbound. He travels to Phoenix, AZ, and Santa Fe, NM, winning money from other street racers on the way.

In San Antonio, TX, Brian ditches his Mitsubishi when police officers receive word of his presence and arrive at the motel he is staying at. A brunette woman in a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder gives him a ride to a used car dealership. After she leaves, he spots an aqua Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 at the lot and purchases it.

On his journey towards the east, Brian gradually modifies his Skyline and repaints it silver. He defeats a red Ferrari 360 Modena in a race in Louisiana, earning more money and respect. Upon reaching Jacksonville, FL, the highway splits into two routes: northbound towards New York and southbound towards Miami. Brian heads to Miami, where he spots Tej and Suki walking across the street, as well as Slap Jack's gold Toyota Supra and Orange Julius' Mazda RX-7.

When the film starts, the audience sees various men and women errecting ROAD CLOSED signs around the course where the racers are to go, so that traffic will keep out. Then we skip to Tej's (Ludacris) workshop and see him talking on a mobile phone, apparently talking about racing details, and then moves outside and says that the race will begin in five minutes. He walks over to Slap Jack, Orange Julius and Suki, standing by their cars. He notices that there are only three cars and races and complains that they cannot start without a fourth racer. The others argue then finally, Tej decides to find them a 'Fourth' before the race starts. He phones Brian O'Conner and asks if he wants to race. Brian agrees and hops into his new Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and before long, he arrives at the race meet. He wants to raise the entry fee/prize. Orange Julius disagrees, but O'Conner challenges him and he agrees. Just before the race starts, Tej backs up the crowd and claims that he has a 'surprise' for them.

The race starts and at first, O'Conner takes the lead, but Slap Jack catches up by using Nitrous Oxide and won't let O'Conner pass because he has to win to pay the rent on his apartment (as his girlfriend mentioned before the race). Behind, Orange Julius is coming third until Suki passes him. We then move to a few Underground Guys (Jimmy included) breaking into a drawbridge control box. We go back to the racers then. Orange Julius is fourth, Suki is third and Slap Jack still has not let O'Conner pass him. Then, we jump to the crowd and Tej allows Jimmy to raise the bridge. The racers then see the bridge. Slap Jack uses his nitrous right away but O'conner saves his until the last moment where he uses his nitrous to jump over Slap Jack's Toyota Supra. Brian lands successfully on the other side of the bridge. Slap Jack, however, lands and swerves out of control, crashing into a Pepsi billboard and injuring his arm. Suki makes the bridge jump but loses her front bumper in the process. Orange Julius bails out and stops before the bridge. Brian finishes first followed closely by Suki. Brian walks over to an attractive woman he saw before the race. But before he gets the chance to have an active conversation, the cops arrive. Everyone runs back to their car. Brian evades the police at first but is then struck down by an EMP. Brian is taken into custody.

The audience sees the police station where Brian is and being interrogated by the police and they tell him that they know he is Brian O'Conner but he insists that the police have the wrong person. But then Bilkins walks in and confirms it by saying "How you doing, O'Conner?"

  • Many of the cars used in the film were recycled from the first film. Slap Jack's Supra and Orange Julius' RX-7 were originally doubles of O'Conner's Supra and Toretto's (Vin Diesel) RX-7, respectively.
  • For Slap Jack's Supra, a custom hood was made, featuring a plexiglas panel that revealed the chrome engine underneath. For the stunt doubles of this car, a photograph of the engine was taken and blown up to full scale, then placed underneath the panel.
  • For the bridge jump, Suki's S2000 was launched via remote control.
  • The yellow Dodge Viper was originally colored red when it was loaned to Universal Studios by DaimlerChrysler. It was repainted red before it was returned to DaimlerChrysler.
  • The Saleen Mustang crushed by the two semi-trailers was actually a 1999 Mustang V6 fitted with Saleen parts.
  • The Corvette crash was not part of the original script and the original Corvette was crashed. Fortunately, the stunt driver safely walked out of the wreckage without any injuries at all.
  • Paul Walker owns a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II worth £150,000 in real life. He has stated that he owns at least three Nissan Skylines.
  • The Nissan Skyline that jumped the bridge suffered major damage to the steering, suspension and tracking and was undriveable afterwards. The Skyline pulling up to the finish line is a completely different one. There were at least five different Nissan Skylines used for the movie that represented Brian's car, most of them being used in the jump scene.
  • Slap Jack's Supra is also used in the movie Grandmas' Boy.

  • Slap Jack's Supra's Neons alternate between Green and Red multiple times during the first race.
  • Brian O'Conner's Skyline appears damaged after it was shown hitting the parking meter from being electronically disabled. The first shot shows no damage.
  • Female Extra can be heard yelling "I love you paulie" when Paul Walker exits Skyline prior to first race.
  • Darden, the Challenger driver, has his sunglasses disappear and reappear during the Tag Team street race.
  • O'Conner's Yellow Lancer Evolution VII received damage upon ramming Verone's car lot gate, yet in the next shot the car is undamaged.
  • Blue Ferrari 355 Spyder in Verone's driveway has been said to be the same Ferrari from the first movie's Supra vs Ferrari race, although the Ferrari that raced was Black.
  • During the first race scene some of the audio is incorrectly matched, this results in Suki's S2000 having the engine note from Orange Julius's RX7 and vice-versa.
  • During the ski-doo racing scene in Miami, a female voice can be heard in the background yelling, "I love you Tyrese!"
  • If the subtitles are on when Paul walker gets out of his skyline before the first race. The female extra actually shouts "I love you Bullet". Suki also calls Brian "Bullet".
