I did join the discussion; you just reverted my edit without responding to the discussion I had attempted to begin on the talk page. Please join the discussion, and please do not revert an edit that has been explained without discussing first. It can lead to edit wars. I'm not going to revert you until you've at least had a chance to state your case on the talk page. -GTBacchus(talk) 06:36, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry, that wasn't accurate. You didn't revert my edit; you simply reinserted one fact, which I still maintain is original research. I'm working on sources for the other nicknames, and I await your reply. -GTBacchus(talk) 06:41, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry if I wasn't clear. When I said I had joined the discussion, I was referring to the section I began at Talk:Portland, Oregon#Removed paragraph, just a few seconds after I made my article edit. The talk page associated with the article, at the bottom, is the usual place to discuss edits while making them.

As for what I'm doing, I'm not simply looking for references for all the nicknames but "Portland Fucking Oregon". I'm looking for references for any nicknames for which I can find them, and the rest really should be cut, as you suggested in your edit summary while restoring "Portland Fucking Oregon". If you haven't already, I suggest you familiarize yourself with our policies Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research. Those will pretty much explain where I'm coming from. We're trying to get Wikipedia to a state where it only relates content that can be verified in reliable secondary sources. -GTBacchus(talk) 07:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

If there's further discussion, at Talk:Portland, Oregon or somewhere else, about how most of the nicknames in that list are unreferenced, I can't find it. Can you provide a link? -GTBacchus(talk) 07:36, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
