1991 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1991 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1991 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament involved 64 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. It began on March 1, 1991, and ended with the championship game on April 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana. A total of 63 games were played.

Duke, coached by Mike Krzyzewski, won a rematch of the previous year's national semi-final matchup against UNLV 79-77, then won the national title with a 72-65 victory in the final game over Kansas, coached by Roy Williams. Christian Laettner of Duke was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
