Greenland is a large land mass, very near to the Arctic. Because it is so cold, its over fifty thousand residents have to live in its southern area. The capital is Godthaab (known as Nuuk to the locals). It is a territory of Denmark.
The prime minister of Greenland is Hans Enoksen.
The country is populated mostly by Inuits who speak the very complicated language of Greenlandic. Danish is also spoken. The national anthem of Greenland is Nunarput utoqqarsuanngoravit.
The country has many mountains. Most of the cities are on the coast. The major cities are Godthaab, Sisimiut, Ilulissat, and Qaqortoq. See List of towns in Greenland.
