Geography
From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia written in simple English for easy reading.
Geography is the science of the earth's locations. It deals with the distribution of natural and human parts on the earth's surface. It tries to describe instead of predict, so there is some overlap with zoology (also descriptive) and ecology (more predictive).
The word geography comes from the Greek words gê ("Earth") and graphein ("to write").
Here are some things that are studied in geography:
- Cartography, or making maps
- Countries of the world
[edit] Natural environment
- Climate
- Soil
- Rivers
- Rocks
- Landform, or relief
- Endogenetic processes
- Exogenetic processes
