Wingate, County Durham

Wingate is a village in County Durham in England that contains the local comprehensive school Wellfield. It is a growing village with a mixture of 19th century, post war and new(2006) houses. It is in the South East of County Durham 3 miles south of Peterlee and 9 miles north of Hartlepool. It has excellent links to transport networks for commuters. 20 miles to the North is Newcastle and 20 miles to the south is Middlesbrough in the Tees Valley.
