Tony Smith (manager)

Tony Smith (born in England) is best known as manager for Genesis since 1971 and for the solo careers of Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks.
Tony Smith co-founded (with Jon Crawley in 1977) the Hit & Run Music Publishing house, located in the United Kingdom.
A genesis "reunion" took place on 21 September 2000 at the London Hilton Hotel where Manager Tony Smith received a Peter Grant Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music. The occasion developed into a performance where Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel were the stage with Tony Smith and Daryl Stuermer. Peter Gabriel did not play, but was present for the photo shoot. A short semi acoustic set was played (including songs: Invisible Touch, Follow You Follow Me and I Can't Dance).
On 7 November 2006, Genesis announced the Turn it On Again reunion "Tour" at which Phil Collins insisted it was more of a "selection of shows" rather than a tour. Tony Smith was present for the Phil Collins, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford tour announcement (the selection of shows will feature the drumming talents of Chester Thompson).
