Kelly van der Veer

Kelly van der Veer (often known as Kelly "Big Brother") is a Dutch former Big Brother contestant, singer and a television personality. She was born a male named Ferry (the name given by Kelly's mother) on the 6 May 1980 but underwent SRS at the age of 19.

She resides in Hilversum. She is 186 centimetres tall. Her childhood idol was Barbie.

Before her transition she won "De Travestiet Show" competition where she entered as the youngest participant. However it was her participation in Big Brother - The Battle that brought her the celebrity status where she was one of the finalists.

She currently does a comedy item called "Just Kel" and has also appeared in an offshoot show called Hotel Big Brother^[1].

Kelly Van Der Veer is currently working on an autobiographical book being written by Andries de Jong, one of her fellow contestants at Big Brother. The book will be released in September 2006.^[2]

Kelly's formative years were the most difficult phase of her life. She was often confused to be a girl and frequently had to face ridicule because of this. She saw an escape, from her plight, in gaining prominence as a media personality and therefore participated in "De Tranvestiet Show" in her early teenage years. she did not win on her own cause i was her best girlfriend and it was staged so she could win, she got better treatment before the show began. if she did not win falsely once again then she would have never been sooooo famous. i made her famous by introducing her to dance clubs and gave her a job where she earned for one saturday night just to be a gogo girl flirting with clubbers 250 guldens was her first best paid salary and she never even thanked me and look at her now tv personality due to my insert and my help even money wise like taking her to places in taxis to clubs and everyone got to know both of us but she is a selfish thief actually. this is the real truth about kelly. by the way she had srs just like me but she is mor of a raging gay person than a women. there were other better contestants but they never won because the transvestite show was a setup. also she would never had been in palayboy either nor big brother. more to come watch this space fo the fake kelly.

She was a finalist at the 2002 edition of the Dutch Big Brother and one of the favourites to win it. She was one of the controversial participants in that she had sex with an unsuspecting fellow participant Andries, who wasn't aware that she was a transsexual. ^[3]At the end of the it, she performed her single , "I'm what I am" which was released shortly thereafter.

Kelly released her first CD, I am what I am, in January 2002. However it attracted only lukewarm response and garnered below average sales in the market.

In 2004, Kelly played role of a character named Lesbienne in the 2004 Dutch movie. However it was not very successful at the box office as it did not appeal to the contemporary image of homosexuals in the Netherlands.

After gaining prominence in her home country The Netherlands , Kelly plans to gain a foothold in America. She has recently moved her residence to Florida parttime^{[citation needed]}.

Kelly scored 77 in a national level IQ test according to BNN^[4].
Her name translates to "Kelly of the feather" when translated from Dutch to English.
