Gey-Gel State Reserve

Gey-Gel State Reserve orGoy-Gol State Reserve of Azerbaijan was established in 1925. It has been deprived of its reserve status for several times and then restored as natural reserve again. [1]
The reserve is designed to protect the natural complexes of Sub-Alpine zones of northern slopes of Minor Caucasus. Forests dominate the territory of the reserve which covers the total area of 6739 hectares. Its fauna is rich with different species of animals; sublime Caucasian dear, brown bear, roe deer, lynx, birdsspecies such as; lammergeyer, raven, mountain partridge, etc. Water basis are dominated by trout. The reserve accounts for over 420 plant species including 20 species of endemic ones. [2]
