Apollon Limassol (Greek: Απόλλων Λεμεσού) is a Cypriot football club, based in Limassol.

Apollon F.C. was founded in Limassol, Cyprus on the 13th of February 1954. The Club applied for a membership to the Cyprus F.A. and was accepted as a second division club on October 16th, 1955.The emblem ofthe newly formed club was that of the ancient Greek god of sun "Apollonas" and ever since is the biggest team in town with the most fanatic followers in Limassol.
At its first year in official football, Apollon suffered 8 defeats in 8 matches in a regional group of the second division. Before the beginning of the next season (1956-57) a crisis erupted in AEL, a first division team based in Limassol and most of the players left the club and joined Apollon. It was not a surprise that the team won the regional group in second division and then the play-offs to win promotion to the first division. That was in 1957 and ever since Apollon is playing in the first division.
Things were not very easy for the newly promoted club. Apollon was struggling in the middle of the table in the league for many years. But in the mid-60's things went better for the Club. In 1965 Apollon reached the Cup Final but it was on the losing side. A year later, in 1966, Apollon was again in the Final but this time it finished on the winning side.
Apollon managed to maintain its Cup title in 1967, but that was it. The team had to wait for 15 years to start making front page stories. It hit the headlines in 1982 when it reached the Cup Final but failed to win it. That marked the beginning of a new era. In the last 20 years Apollon won the league title three times(1991, 1994, 2006); was four times runner-up (1984, 1989, 1993, 1997); won the Cup five times (1966, 1967, 1986, 1992, 2001); and Cup finalist six times (1965, 1982, 1987, 1994, 1995, 1998). In 2006 Apollon won the Cyprus First Division championship title, while being the only undefeated team in Europe. Apollon hasn't had a defeat for the last 34 league games (since 12 March 2005 - today).

The team's current stadium is the 14,400 seater, Tsirion Stadium, also known as the Olympia Stadium (G.S.O). Tsirion Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Limassol, Cyprus. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Apollon Limassol, AEL Limassol and Aris Limassol. The stadium was built in 1975.Apollon Limassol currently uses the West Stand of the stadium but most of the times is overcrowded therefore also use the East Stand of the stadium.
